Validitool

For freight forwarders and customs brokers

EORI numbers checked before the declaration, not after the rejection

Validate EU, Northern Ireland (XI) and UK (GB) EORI numbers one by one, in bulk or straight from your systems, and screen consignees against sanctions lists, with a record of every check.

Sound familiar?

  • Declarations held up because an EORI number was mistyped or no longer valid.
  • Two different services to check: the EU’s for EU and XI numbers, and HMRC’s for GB numbers since Brexit.
  • Checking consignees against sanctions lists by hand.
  • No record of which numbers were checked, and when.

What you get

EU, XI and GB in one place

EU and Northern Ireland numbers are checked with the European Commission’s EORI service, GB numbers with HMRC: you don’t have to know which.

Bulk upload

Paste or upload up to 5,000 EORI numbers and download the results as a spreadsheet, with your shipment references kept.

Sanctions screening

Consignees and suppliers screened against the EU, UN, UK and US OFAC lists, refreshed daily from the official publishers.

API for your TMS

One HTTP call per number, or batches; plug it into your transport management system.

Certificates

A PDF record of each check: number, result, time and source.

VAT numbers too

The same tools check customers’ EU VAT numbers, and the reverse charge checker covers EU and UK sales.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Check or upload

One number on the free checker, or a whole list from your system.

  2. Step 2

    Get the answer

Valid or not, with the trader’s name and address where they’ve agreed to publish it.

  3. Step 3

    Automate it

Call the API from your booking or declaration workflow so every new consignee is checked.

Which plan fits

Single checks are free. Starter ($9/month, 2,000 checks) covers the API and certificates for a small team; bulk upload starts at Growth ($29/month, 20,000 checks).

Try it on your data: send a list of consignee EORI numbers to scale@validitool.com and we'll return them checked, free.

Questions

Why does the result have no company name?
EORI registries only publish a trader’s name and address if the trader has agreed to it; the number’s validity is always returned.
Do you check Northern Ireland numbers?
Yes. XI numbers are part of the EU’s EORI system, and GB numbers are checked with HMRC.
What if a registry is down?
You get a clear "could not check", never a false "invalid". See the API docs.
